3 Days Old
A rare moment of sleep. Sophia was very restless... For the first few weeks she hardly ever settled unless she was feeding. The content of her nappies became a constant focus... various shades of green (often mucousy) poo, around ten times per day. We realised that she was reacting to the gluten and lactose in my diet. After I eliminated these she settled much more and her poo became a regular yellowy breastfed colour.
First Day! Born on the 8th June 2015, just after 6am. Weighing just over 6lbs. Our miracle!
On the 7th of June, after 2 days of on/off pretty intense Braxton Hicks contractions I went into labour and we travelled into RD&E hospital around 11pm. Although my contractions were regular and I was in a lot of pain, the doctors didn't think it was 'actual labour' until around 1am on the 8th, Dilation was pretty swift, so a consultant was called in to perform an emergency C. Section soon afterwards. Thankfully everything was set up by the time my contractions were around 1 and a half minutes apart!
Right up until Sophia was born I couldn't quite believe that we'd be lucky enough to be gifted with such a miracle...
Meeting her brother Kyle for the first time.
Meeting her brother Luke.
